It is ignorant ( in my opinion) to say that in order for one to achieve perfect studying, ass technology must be removed from the area. Unfortunately we live in a digital world. A world in which more and more books are e-books and many professors utilize online assignments. In fact, even major exams like the MCAT, are taken using computers. So while all of these laptops, wifi, tablets, and phones surround us like the sweets in a candy store, underneath all of those posts and procrastination are the materials needed to be successful in a class.
Everyone has their own way of studying. Some study while watching TV (kudos to y'all). Others make their way to the most silent of corners in the library and sit at a desk, writing/typing away til the coffee wears off and the brain protests reading another word. For me, I am still trying to perfect this formula. I try utilizing other people's methods. I find that while installing StayFocus on my internet browser prevents me from wasting my study time, trying to cram information in my brain for four hours leaves me nowhere and my brain desperately searching for an escape. Recently I have been reviewing Behavioral Science material and it dawned on me that my Intro to Psych professor, freshman year gave us tips concerning 'perfect' studying. As a result, I try to study in a new location every day. It seems to work, but maybe all I'm doing is discovering the secret niches of my campus.
I am convinced that the key to perfect studying is synonymous to the Lost City of Atlantis or, the secret of the Bermuda triangle. It may exist or it may not. I will continue to search as I try to learn all of the information that is thrown at me during the week. Who knows? Maybe I will have that Eureka! moment, but with a little more class than Archimedes. We will see I guess!
Thanks y'all! If you have suggestions, questions, tips, or random facts you wish to throw my way, check out my contact page!
**Also, as a little Halloween treat, I may upload a short, scary story for y'all's reading pleasure on Thursday. We....
will....
see :)
