Thanks to all of the new technology that has emerged in the recent years (here is looking at you cheap smartphones and tablets), when I climb into my twin XL bed at school I don't immediately fall asleep. Instead I am browsing a social media platform or reading the news. I need to be stopped. In fact, ever since I began this ol' blog (yes all one day of it), I feel my productivity is rising. How you ask? I haven't the slightest, but let me fool myself. I know I have a long way to go, but starting tonight I shall place my electronics out of reach and re-teach myself to sleep normally. I don't need a notification on Facebook or a funny tweet to be the last image seared on my eyes before my sleep-laden eyes shut in protest. I shall use this time to meditate and sleep. I hope by taking this step, I can develop myself spiritually and take less naps during the day thus increasing that productivity drive. This is my 2 am pledge (not off to the greatest of starts).
