So let me list my qualifications on the subject. I too am a sufferer of this rapidly spreading condition. I have been asked if I had emotions? My little sister once advised me to smile when I was walking into a room so I didn't look like I wanted to murder someone. I was even asked if I knew how to smile. My answer to many of these situations is the same. Why smile needlessly? Why would I waste perfectly good energy in my face by smiling like a fool everywhere I go? I am perfectly content with a brief smile at someone I know while walking to class. However, once they are gone, the smile is gone. Makes sense to me.
To further clarify, this post will not hold the secret cure to Chronic RBF. This is an incurable condition as far as I know. I have heard of temporary cures to the condition but these are all very temporal and consist of evoking intense emotion from the person with chronic RBF. So instead of a cure, I would like to bring awareness to this epidemic.
We have all seen the buzzfeed articles consisting of pictures and pictures of people with Chronic RBF. If you are a sufferer of this facial expression, then you most likely clicked on the link, read through it, chuckled a bit, and sympathized with the people in article. You know their pain. You live that pain. You wish people would understand that pain instead of making fun of it. You have embraced it, why can't they? That is the true cure to Chronic RBF. Understanding of our lifestyle. If people stop making a big deal out of our energy conservation, no-waste lifestyle then we can go on in our lives un-bothered and not ridiculed. So take the stand today. Support Chronic RBF awareness. Let our pain be know. Be the change that all of us with Chronic RBF needs in the world. We are people too. Thank you.
